I know many of you are out there experimenting with cooperative learning structures which is great! I wanted to share something that I think will help you as you plan for cooperative learning activities – or really any activities at all.
This is a method developed by Dr. Randy Sprick (Discipline in the Secondary Classroom). CHAMPS helps us think about how we want our students to talk, move, ask for help, and participate in various activities. This will help you be explicit with your expectations for the benefit of you and your students.
Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have questions or want samples.
