This strategy asks them to elaborate on that basic knowledge and show that they have a conceptual understanding by comparing the concept to something else they are more familiar with.
Just wanted to share a great cooperative learning strategy for teachers in any content area.
This strategy may be particularly useful for teachers who aren’t quite comfortable managing small group activities just yet. This strategy asks kids to collaborate by discussing a text through writing rather than discussion. This will make it a little easier to make sure students are on task and will reduce the “chaotic feel” that other cooperative learning strategies may have.
